Cosmic Ocean - a VR journey

Take a deep dive through the universe with Cosmic Ocean - a Virtual Reality Journey! In this immersive 180-degree VR experience, the viewer floats through various nebula formations. Accompanied by the relaxing ambient sound of Lee Rosevere.

This project is designed by Teun van der Zalm. He is an digital/nebula artist from The Netherlands. 6 years ago he started making nebula videos using a so called “2,5D parallax slice” technique. The result was very detailed, but limited by camera movement. In recent years he has developed the “directly in 3D” technique. This technique allows him to display the nebula shape completely in 3D.

A few years ago he decided to create a dynamic journey using this technique. After some experimenting and designing, he found a way to develop a long meditative version. The result is a immersive deep dive into several hand-designed nebulae.
